My Easter reflection

A reflection:
The burdens we bare; those things we now can’t change, the missed opportunities, the things we are unsure of and the things we turn away from and more, and we are called struggle with Christ with our heavy Crosses, from that garden where He pleaded that ‘this cup’ pass him by, and walk through the destruction of sin with its many trails, asking always ‘My God, why have you forsaken me?’, to that garden of new life at the dawn of the first day of the week, grazing at the empty tomb, bringing us back to that beautiful garden meant for us before the fall; Christ the new Adam, the Paschal lamb and Redeemer.

”See the scourging of my back, which I accepted in order to disperse the load of your sins which was laid upon your back.”

O God, who in your providential design willed that your Church be built upon Blessed Peter, whom you set over the other Apostles, look with favour, we pray, upon Benedict our Pope, and grant that he, whom you have made Peter’s successor, may be for your people a visible source and foundation of unity in faith and of communion. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and resigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
